“You’ve state”. These camps were usually divided into sections,

“You’ve taken everything from us, but not who were are! We still exist! One day grass will grow here and overgrow the ruins. Or day this will be forgotten. But you… no one will ever forget you! The shame of humanity”(Apitz). History remembers Hitler as the shame of humanity for what he did to make people suffer, especially the jews, starting with the concentration camps. In 1933, the Nazi’s built series of detention facilities to impresion and eliminate “enemies of the state”. These camps were usually divided into sections, for male and female, which were separated by rows of barbed wire fences. The prisoners were housed in wooden or brick- built barracles, were made for housing 250 to 400 prisoners, but often host 700 to 1200 prisoners each. With one camp administration building that would be located in near the main entrance counting kitchen, laundry, shower and workshops. They also had a “Apell platz”, roll call square. Where prisoner would stand often for hours while they were counted. The jews suffered in these forced-labour camp where they died from exhaustion, starvations and exposure. They were also test subjects, nazi doctors performed medical experiments on them. Worst of all they suffered in gas chambers. The Birkenau center had four gas chambers, up to 6,000 jews were gassed there each day. It seems like we are reliving history. In North Korea, they have established prison camps “North Korean prisons are just bad as -andFurthermore in any government conflict there is always a chance the people will be mistreated but what the nazi’s and North Korea were and are doing to their people is beyond mistreatment, it is inhuman in so many ways. Prisoners in North Korea are force to do hard labor, often in mines and receive very little food, clothing and heating.just like the jews had to do in their camps. If North korea’s prisoners are to escape there will be consequences if found or the family will have to pay the prices. These punishment were shown off to the whole camp so the rest won’t follow and try to leave. “Weeks later, after the brothers were caught in China and tortured, inmates were forced to watch as the pair were beheaded…The two brothers were beheaded in front of everyone”(Hye-jin). A tecniced also used by the Nazi’s to scare the jews from leaving camp. These humans had no rights, no say so. Overall the women were treated like animals.”A woman was stripped naked and set on fire for annoying a guard during interrogation” (Hye-jin). Woman prisoners were also raped by guards and if they were found to be pregnant they were forced to have abortions and even get killed by lethal injection. “If the pregnancy wasn’t detected until later, she would give birth but the baby would be beaten to death or buried alive.”(Hye-jin) Just like the punishment in the jews concentration camps, they are harsh to their people. Even though they are prisoners of the state, they should be treated with rights and as human beings. No more rapping of woman, no physical abuse towards the men. These are view as crimes here in the states. The housing should not be so cramp in. More food and water, 3 meals a day. No excessive work labor. The enslavement, torture and sexual violence should stop. Especially the harsh torture that is going inside of these North Korea camps for example ‘A doctor who had been caught trying to escape to china he was stripped and hung upside down, beaten, tortured with fire or water, and had water mixed with spicy pepper poured into his nose and mouth”(Fifield). Lim hye-jin also stated “what you can only imagine as the cruelest of things is normal in there” (Hye-jin) Although it’s understandable the counter argument and its reasoning behind concentration camps in North Korea because they enforce the government laws but the treatment of the prisoners is injustice. They have concentration camps to gather and torture the few of North koreans that speak up about the government no matter what heritage they are ,where the nazi’s were killing million but only focused if they were jews. These concentration camps are there to let its people know to follow the laws and do what you are supposed to do or else you will be sent to one. “Anyone who questions the leaders or the system is liable to be thrown in a penal labor colony- often for, life and often together with three generations of their families to eliminate the seed of enemies of the state” (Fifield). As shown above concentration camps are not needed. A solution for these issue might be having prison instead of camps. Where these prison can be monitored but treat their prisoners with rights and respect. If not done something of these sort. The United State might have to step in and declare battle to free these people out. Just like the jews, were the states tried to help. Lets just hope it won’t be to late to assicst. “Now i know they and water, 3 meals a day. No excessive work labor. The enslavement, torture and sexual violence should stop.
