The to secure Haiti from France Leadership. The development

The
rise of partisan politics during the 17th and 18th
started to show especially with Alexander Hamilton and a federal party, as well
as Thomas Jefferson with republicans and the state. This was fueled by the
French Revolution and Whiskey Rebellion, where we start to see the two parties
collide and bring forth a new standard to governmental and state issues. During
the time John Adams was the president of the federalist party, with his biggest
problem being with the French. Because France and Great Britain were at war and
failed to stop the French from attacking American ships that fueled the Quasi
War, which many American ships were seized, and Adams declared to build a
strong U.S Naval Base.

These
events led to Adams sending American Vessels to reach an agreement with the
French. This in turn lead to a bribe known as the XYZ affair, where it was said
America had to repay its debt in the amount of 50,000 euros in the bribe.
Although, many federalists were deemed right about France, many Democratic-
republicans were outraged and mislead about France actions.  In Haiti, where many U.S Vessels were kept
had the upper hand on the French, which Haiti was still a French colony at the
time, where led by Toussaint who was trying to stop an embargo on the U.S and
the colonies. This was to aid in the Civil disruptions to help with the
domestic troubles Toussaint was having. Haiti become an independent black
republic colony in 1804 with Toussaint leadership and efforts to secure Haiti
from France Leadership.

The development of the second party system
came about, because of political confusions between the two national parties
during this time of the first party system. After the first party system
started to fade away, the New Party system or Second Party system was developed
based off three major events. Which was the Financial panic of 1819, Slavery
Debates in the south, and the political cohort of the presidential candidates.
The panic had differences amongst banks, tariffs, monetary policy, and farmers
during these times. Farmers blamed the banks for panic, which in return caused
higher tariffs, and governments to start to invest in transportation resulting
in reduction of trade.

The
Second result of this was the Slavery Debates in the South, which was began of
the alarm of a new national alignment of sectional lines, because of Missouri
Crisis. Which in return caused many leaders from the south to form alliances
with northerners. After this as some result southerners who opposed the banks,
tariffs, and improvements of the Transportation were now looking up north for
help. Finally, the faction among the presidential candidates began a large
debate especially for who was going to represent the republican party. In a
disclosed meeting the members chose William Crawford to represent them, after
some issues over the proceeding and how Crawford was chosen many republicans
were furious. Crawford had suffered a choke in a short time after, and Andrew
Jackson was named on of the four candidates to represent the republican party
by Jefferson.

Andrew
Jackson was the leader of the Democratic Party, which stood on small national
government while the Whig party was led by Henry Clay, Daniel Webster, and John
Quincy Adams who believed in government actions to improve the lives of
American citizens and society.  In the
Whig party they believed that governments power should be used to advance
American society and bring about change and evolution. These things included
roads, canals, and research universities in the process. Most of their support
coming from Middle- class citizens the Whig party wasn’t focused on economics
of doing things. But the governments role to improve the quality of life for
Individuals.

The
democratic republicans on the other hand and led by Andrew Jackson, viewed
things a little different from the Whig party in that there were heirs to
things and to advance the common man. Their beliefs spawn from small national
governments, and that economic, cultural and social idea was a freedom unlike
the Whigs. They both agreed upon removing native Americans from the land and
expand westward of the U.S. During this time Democrats controlled the era and
removed Native Americans and supported war with Mexico to expand westward. This
was the time the National Bank was destroyed, and farm lands were common and
more accessible.

Whig
Party has been the leaders of banks, a social hierarchy, humanitarian acts, and
development of economic growth. They were seen to differ on suffrage,
expansion, and other things that democratic republicans swayed from. The party
formed because of the Jackson’s war in the felt reaction of the constitution,
supreme court, and the rights of Indians. The Whigs favored congress over a
general presidency to run the country, which in turn favored protecting the
economy and modernizing society.

Democratic
republicans geared toward development of the common man. With less focus on
education. The focus was geared toward the executive branch of government. And
a public support of government. Where the officials in court were elected and
not appointed. They both agreed upon the avoidance and battles amongst slavery.
They believed all white men were able to vote and their right to own property
were at their expense. With manifest Destiny a main component of Jackson Democratic
republic many Whigs steered away from it, amongst the republic the Destiny
stated that white Americans would settle the west and expand it control to the
pacific. Many Whigs opposed too this type of doctrine. While the republic was
quite laissez-faire about the economy, Whigs took a more advanced approach in
railroads, educations, figuring it was the greater good to modernize society
and build economic growth in America.

The
way the second party system democratized American politics, was the belief in
suffrage right, only through back the n it was basically allowed to only white
males. It also brought about governments contributing to the belief of its
citizens and protecting their citizens rights. This time developed the approval
to vote upon officials, rather than someone appointing officials into power. It
gave a voice for future eras to expand upon American History to develop a more
advanced and diverse society. Even through the groups disagreed upon many
issues, this led to innovative ideas for the future and to foreshadow Americas
strength as a nation.

The
events that led to the civil war come in a series of events that goes back to
the Missouri compromise where Missouri become a slave state, and Maine become a
free state creating faction amongst lines being drawn on the map throw western
territories. Also Following these events was Nat turners Rebellion, where Nat
and slaves killed white people in protest of being entrapped in slavery, in
result they were hung and killed for such acts. Another event that led to the
civil war was the case Dread Scott vs Sanford, where a Virginia slave fought
for his freedom in court. It went all the way to supreme court, where dread was
said to be property to the owner (Agular 2014). These little events led up to
the civil war.

The
war was terrible in the amount of lives lost- but was also the war to help the
states become untied as one and stand as a unit. But slavery was being fought
about being pro-slavery advocates and abolitionist. The continuation of slavery
in the south, feeling it was necessary to keep slavery because it was critical
to their life, while the abolitionist argued against the continuation of
slavery. Many arguments that stirred up for the continuing of slavery against
abolition was the use it played within the economy and religion. It was said
“that whites couldn’t survive without slavery because it was its backbone”,
while religion stated, “it was Gods will to enslave blacks both in the united
states and Europeans countries as well” (Noell 2012).

Abolitionist
argued against everything pro-slavery advocates found to keep slaves. One of
the first to argue against this was Fredrick Douglass. Douglass often argued
against the harsh condition, food sufficiency, and how families were being torn
apart because of this. An idea that America was the home of the free often
brought about hypocritical notions, because it would then deem America stand on
slavery as a sin in God’s Eyes. That the idea of the land of the free was just
a hypocritical stance to stand upon. Douglass says to Pro-slavery religion “the
religion of the south is a mere covering for the most horrid crimes, – a
justifier of the most barbarity” (Noell 2012).

Jefferson
stated that westward expansion was key to the future of the U.S. With events
like the Louisiana purchase, and Indians being forced to give up their lands,
caused a sprawled reaction across the nation. This caused sectional conflict
among thing following the Missouri compromise and the ongoing effect of slavery
in these sections. While people continued to travel West to places like Oregon,
California, and Texas. Thus, James Polk declaring war on Mexico falsely because
territories being invaded on American soil while Americans where being killed
in the process.

Finally,
War had began in 1861 with the union and confederate states declaring war on
each other. All this because of Sectional Tension, the institution of slavery,
and rebellion amongst a variety of groups led to the civil war and around
600,000 humans losing their life because of this. In the end, Millions were injured,
and westward expansion continued along with Political differences in the Party
system.
