He inspired people to follow their dreams and meet their goals. His skills and beliefs inspired people all around the world. He was a great leader because he used nonviolence and inspired others to take action for what they believed.Martin Luther King Jr, was born January 15,1929, in Atlanta Georgia. His parents names were Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. He went to Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta. His secondary education took place at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta. He skipped 2 years of high school and at the age of fifteen, he went to college. He had a dream to make all races equal the same.He married a woman named Coretta Scott King in 1953. They had 4 children; their names were Dexter Scott King, Bernice King,Yolanda King and Martin Luther King III. Martin Luther King also had two siblings; he had an older sister and a younger brother.He lived in Atlanta Georgia as an adult. He received a doctorate degree as an adult. He believed that all races should have equal rights.  Martin Luther King is best known for his Speech, I Have a Dream. Some words that more than 50,00 people listened to and still live within many today are, “Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice.” There was a 16 mile march that happened in 1963 that adult african americans were going to do for their rights and freedom but they did not want to so the kids did the 16 mile march and the Mach was then named the children’s march. The kids served 2 weeks in jail for not having a marching license and the kids were let out at different times.He was known for his non violence and he also won the nobel peace prize. He has his own holiday and it’s on every 3rd monday of january.The march benefited the blacks so they could have rights.Some of the restaurants the blacks tried to go into would not allow them inside they would have to got to the back door to get there food. On april 4,1968 Martin Luther King tragically was assassinated by James Earl Ray while he was at a hotel on the balcony in tennessee. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:05 pm.Martin Luther King Jr. was a man that made a great impact on the civil rights. He said that he was going to have the blacks a whites have the same rights. He said a speech and it made a difference on america.
