To try to find a solution, the Design for Supply Chain team was contracted, which was commissioned to try to unify all these components and designs.This team implemented the use of RedSky as a process in the supply chain that can be used to reduce the number of parts, decrease costs, and achieve a wide range of data analytics. Also the reduction in the size of the product uses less resources since the recycled materials are used in some new products.Design and  manufacturing play an important role in the HP’s supply chain phases. RedSky uses the list of production materials to examine the qualities of the materials in order to eliminate unnecessary parts, redesign the products and establish a parts catalog.The main objective is to reduce costs and achieve greater uniformity by increasing the use of the most popular components, as well as reduce or eliminate used components less frequently and look for new savings opportunities streamlining the product design process and limiting the variation of the components.
